The First Telephone House/French Connection

This 100+ year old short term rental housed the first telephone in Grand Bank. Owner, Mr. George French, was an employee of the United Towns Electric Company and the Avalon Telephone Company and it was from his home that telephone communication began in Grand Bank, with his daughter, Mabel, as operator until the advent of dial phones in the 1950s.
